Nature

The sun caught me up today

The colors of the sky

danced in front of my eyes

The change, moment by moment

Much as life changes

To sit and freeze a moment is not living

Living requires a new breath

A new life brought right through

A breath, a glance, the colors

Ever changing, ever flowing

What is up ahead?

How will it change?

One will only know if they are a part

A part of it all

Watching, waiting, living

So much of life is on the sidelines

I want to be all in

I want to see, and touch and feel

All the things around me

The people, the animals, the nature

I want to experience it all

And I will, my life is just beginning

All the years of watching

Its time to heal and live

For all the times I gave up on me

I deserve to feel and be

All the things that have resided

Those roots run deep

The safety of nature

It kept me out of harm

It shielded me from that pain

It protects me as it always has

My safe place to be

It will always be that to me

Since a young girl, I have felt it

The energy of the trees, the flowers

The growth of things all around

They reached right out and gave

me the hope to continue on

Nature has a way of doing that

Right there, centered my life

Appreciation for all things

It runs deep within me

I have passed that on

I am so grateful.
