The feet lead me into the room
The sound of the tiptoe
Quiet, so not be seen or heard
A child grows up in the distance
Never really included or seen
Never finding their place
She tiptoes as to not be acknowledged
If they don’t see her
They wont hurt her
She knows she does not belong
She never fit or was part of
She wonders why she is out
Her life moves forward
She stays in the shadows
She remains unseen by most
They take what they want
She stands with nothing left
Discarded yet again
No value, no worth
No need to be seen
No need to belong
Her worth is beyond
Them and their capacity
She looks within and sees
The worth she has is priceless
Just like her smile and her eyes
Does anyone see her?
She tiptoes through this life
Like a jaguar on the hunt
She continues to watch and wait
One day, her worth will be found
Those that see her will be blessed
Her worth is beyond compare
The loyalty she has is fierce
She gives only to a few
The rest have thrown it away
They will not earn it back
She protects her heart
She protects her soul
Her spirit is healing
It is becoming strong
Her presence feeling known
She stands on her own now
No one to lean on
No one to take her into account
She is rising in her own
She will soar like the eagles
She will fly and be free
She no longer needs to be light
Her spirit needs to let go
Or all that tried to take her
She will be seen again
By those who deserve her
It won’t be many.
